Making the Rounds

Meta planning to introduce generative AI for ad creation later this year. Struggling to come up with captivating ad copy or compelling ad creative? According to Metaâs Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth, the company is working on generative AI features for advertisers, with a goal to release them later in the year.
TikTok users more receptive to advertising, study finds. A new report from Statista reveals 38% of TikTok users donât mind ads, and 15% struggle to tell the difference between free and paid content.
Twitter Blue subscribers will only see 50% ads. The company is making good on one of Elonâs initial promises for the revamped subscription program by eliminating 50% of the ads that non-subscribers see in the feed.

Working With Clients
A Proven Playbook to Land Your First Freelance Client

Your first freelance client is the hardest one to land.
Especially if youâre looking to build your business around a new skill.
So â whatâs the best way to do it?
(Unfortunately, calling yourself a âfreelance beastâ wonât cut it ;)
Instead, we recommendâŠ
Offering to work for free in exchange for a case study or testimonial.
Removing your fee from the equation limits their downsideâŠ
And getting them to agree to give you a case study creates buy-in + ensures youâll have a proof piece you can use to make landing the next client easier.
But a word of warning before you go on the huntâŠ
Donât expect clients to trip over themselves trying to hire you just because youâre offering to work for free.
Hereâs why:
By making this offer, youâve eliminated the monetary riskâŠ
But not the time and energy risk.
Theyâll still have to invest some time and energy into the project and communicating with you about it.
Thereâs a chance it could all be wasted if the project goes bad.
And they likely value their time much more than whatever fee you might charge them.
So whether youâre prospecting via cold outreach or on freelancing platformsâŠ
Keep this factor in mind.
Express your gratitude to them for taking a chance on youâŠ
Explain how hungry and motivated you are to knock the project out of the park.
And emphasize that you respect their time.
