Making the Rounds

  • Stripe processed $817 billion in payments last year. The company saw payments processed go up by 26% in 2022. But growth appears to be slowing as the company was forced to lay off 14% of staff at the end of last year.

  • Instagram testing new shared content discovery feature. Fewer and fewer people are sharing feed posts, so the platform is experimenting with creating a new, separate feed based on content you and a friend have both engaged with, or accounts you both follow.

  • TikTok fined $14M for letting underage children in the U.K use the platform. The fine is one of the largest ever issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office, as lawmakers across the globe debate banning the app altogether.

Working For Yourself

Unlock Peak Productivity With a Focus Playlist

One of the most effective ways to increase your focus is to listen to music.

Ideally with headphones or earbuds.

This helps drown out distractions and direct your attention to the task at hand.

So if you’re looking to unlock peak productivity…

Create your own focus playlist with these 3 tips:

1) Choose music you’re familiar with
2) Avoid lyrics if possible
3) Match the tempo to your mood

Now, choosing music you’re familiar with might include music with lyrics.

That’s totally okay.

On the flipside, you may want to experiment with non-lyrical music even though it’s new to you.

That’s okay too.

Experiment with both to find out what works for you.

Our favorite types of music for getting work done include atmospheric/movie soundtracks, chillwave, and lo-fi.

In fact, we recently created an official Gig playlist for peak productivity.

How to Create High-Converting Carousels on LinkedIn

We believe LinkedIn is the #1 social media platform for freelancers right now.

Clients and service providers are actively looking to connect…

And the organic reach you can get on the platform right now is better than Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter.

Even with little to no followers.

And when it comes to creating high-converting content for LinkedIn, carousels are king.

These are swipeable collections of images, much like the ones you see on Instagram.

The only problem is…

Carousels on LinkedIn have to be uploaded in PDF format, not JPG or PNG.

One way to do this is to upload or create all the images in Canva, then download it as a PDF.

But we’ve discovered a better way:

It’s a content creation and scheduler originally built for Twitter…

But with it, you can easily cross-post content to LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

Plus if you post a Twitter thread, it can screenshot your tweets and email you a PDF so you can upload it to LinkedIn as a carousel in just a few clicks.
