Working With Clients
How to Simplify Your Elevator Pitch So You Can Land More Clients
The simpler your service is to understand, the easier it is for clients to say yes.
Thatās why itās important to work on your elevator pitch.
And more importantly, to make it as simple to understand as humanly possible.
If you havenāt crafted one yet, hereās a template you can use as a starting point:
I help [TARGET] achieve [DESIRED OUTCOME] with [SERVICE/METHOD].
Now letās use an email marketer to whip up a few examples:
I help ecommerce brands increase their revenue by 30%+ with email marketing.
I help online coaches book 2X more qualified sales calls with Seinfeld Emails.
I help affiliate marketers boost subscriber LTV by 47% with a Soap Opera Sequence.
I help high-ticket business owners get more clients with email.
See how each one is different?
The idea is to adjust it based on your own skills + experience.
Along with whatever outcome is mostly likely to resonate with your ideal client.
But aim to keep it as simple as possible.
This means using as few words as possible.
The last variation is plain as can be, but itās also the shortest and easiest to grasp.
So it might outperform all the others.
Regardless, once youāve got this dialed in, it can also serve as your profile headline on LinkedInā¦
So anytime youāre posting or leaving a comment on the platform, potential clients can easily see what you do.
LinkedInās also a great place to workshop your messaging.
Start testing different variations and see which one resonates most with your ideal client.

Working For Yourself
The Rise of Asynchronous Communication For Collaboration
Meetings can be a major timesuck.
Especially if youāre collaborating across different time zones.
So if you want to protect your time and maximize efficiencyā¦
Focus on asynchronous communication instead.
What is asynchronous communication?
Itās any one-way message where the sender and recipient are not synchronized.
Emails
DMs
Voice notes
Screencast videos
Etc
The benefits of using voice notes or screencast videos over written messages are that itās much easier to provide context and illustrate your pointā¦
Plus hearing someoneās voice or seeing their face helps build a stronger connection.
When it comes to recording screencast videos, our new weapon of choice is Tella.
(more on it below)
And nowadays, most messaging apps like Slack, WhatsApp, and Telegram have voice notes as a built-in feature.
Just make sure to keep your voice notes short and punchy.
Otherwise, your colleagues may come to dread them š

Tool of the Week
Upgrade Your Screencast Videos With Tella
Weāre big fans of asynchronous communication here at Gig HQ.
And screencast videos are a key part of that.
Now, up until recently, our weapon of choice for this has been a tool called Snagit.
But now weāre in love with a new tool called Tella.
Itās like SnagIt or Loom on steroids:
You can choose from a wide variety of layouts and backgrounds to make your video look more polished & professional
The video & audio recording quality is unbeatable (so everything looks and sounds as crisp as possible)
Plus you can easily stitch together multiple clips into a single video (so no more worrying about nailing the entire thing in one take)
All in all, Tella gets a rave review from us.
Yet you donāt have to take our word for it.
