Making the Rounds

  • TikTok launches AI ad script generator. The race to infuse generative AI into paid advertising tools continues. Advertisers can now generate a 15-30 second or 31-60 second video script from directly within the platform, based on product name, description, and keywords.

  • YouTube announces lower threshold for Partner Program. Good news for creators looking to monetize their channel: now you can qualify with just 500 subscribers, 3 uploads in the past 90 days, and either 3,000 watch hours in the past year or 3 million Shorts views in the last 90 days.

  • Twitter creators will be able to export subscriber data. Social media followers have always been a rented audience. But Elon is looking to change that for creators on Twitter. He recently tweeted that you’ll be able to export subscriber data for followers who’ve opted in, allowing you to take your audience with you off the platform.

  • iOS 17 automatically removes link tracking parameters. Another Apple update, another F-U to advertisers. The latest operating system will automatically strip links of their tracking parameters, making it more difficult to track website activity.

Working With Clients

Do This Once a Week If You Need More Clients

What gets measured gets managed.

That’s why, when it comes to working with clients…

You should be tracking your prospecting numbers on a weekly basis.

  • How many people you reached out to

  • How many calls you booked

  • How many proposals you submitted

  • How many clients you landed

This allows you to identify where the constraint is — just like analyzing a client’s underperforming sales funnel — and then try new things until you crack the code.

Working For Yourself

A Quick Fix For Neverending To-Do Lists

Struggling to stay on top of your to-do list?

Try implementing the 2-Minute Rule:

If a task will take less than 2-minutes, do it immediately.

Here’s why this simple productivity tip can be so powerful:

Not only does it ensure tasks don’t clog up your to-do list or mental workspace…

But it also gives you an instant sense of accomplishment…

Which fuels motivation and encourages proactivity.

Plus tasks that stay stuck on your to-do list for a long time tend to grow in perceived difficulty…

Creating even more distraction.

So if you’re looking for less stress and more productivity, give the 2-Minute Rule a try.

Tool of the Week

The Ultimate Tool For Personal Knowledge Management

Personal knowledge management (PKM) has been a big priority for us in 2023.

What does this mean?

It means developing a system for:

1. Using notes to capture inputs (books, podcasts, YouTube videos, etc)

2. Expanding on those notes with your own thoughts about them

3. Organizing and connecting these notes & thoughts with others in a way that’s intuitive and easily searchable

Kind of like building your very own Wikipedia for everything you’ve ever learned

This is where Obsidian comes in.

It helps you organize your thoughts, ideas, and notes into a single, unified PKM system.

It’s been a huge help for generating ideas, refining perspectives, and creating content.

With Obsidian, you can:

  • Create notes, documents, and other files and store them in a single, organized location

  • You can easily search for and access any file you need using tags and bi-directional links, making it easy to stay organized and productive

  • Plus it uses Markdown and stores files locally, so you can always access your notes even if your internet goes down

Ultimately, Obsidian is like a digital brain…

Because it helps you make connections between seemingly unrelated thoughts and ideas.
