Send High-Quality Client Updates With Tella

We’re big fans of asynchronous communication here at Gig HQ.

And screencast videos are a key part of that.

Now, up until recently, our weapon of choice for this has been a tool called Snagit.

But now we’re in love with a new tool called Tella.

It’s like SnagIt or Loom on steroids:

  • You can choose from a wide variety of layouts and backgrounds to make your video look more polished & professional

  • The video & audio recording quality is unbeatable (so everything looks and sounds as crisp as possible)

  • Plus you can easily stitch together multiple clips into a single video (so no more worrying about nailing the entire thing in one take)

All in all, Tella gets a rave review from us.

Yet you don’t have to take our word for it.

Working With Clients

When in Doubt, Refer Out

Got a lead you can’t help?

Don’t just send them away

Refer them to someone else in your network.

Becoming a “connector” helps you build goodwill and social capital with both parties — the lead and the person you refer them to.

Something that often comes back around to you

Whether it’s a referral fee, a client being referred to you, or something else altogether.

And if you don’t have a network of other service providers you can refer to, it’s time to start building one.

Aim to have at least one person you can refer to for all the services adjacent to yours.

- If you’re a copywriter, get to know someone who runs paid ads
- If you run paid ads, get to know someone who does graphic design or video editing
- If you’re a graphic designer, get to know someone who builds funnels

A bigger network always means more opportunities.

Working For Yourself

The Dark Side of a Short Commute

Occupational hazard for remote workers:

Blurred lines between your personal & professional lives.

Sure, the morning commutes may be a breeze

But when the office is always just a few steps away, it can be tough to turn off your work brain.

That’s why one of the best ways to stay sane is

Create a structured work schedule and stick to it.

That means:

- Getting up at the same time each day
- Starting work at the same time each day
- Finishing work at the same time each day
- Having a “shut down” ritual to mark the end of the workday

Establishing boundaries like this will not only help you be more productive

But you’ll sleep better too.
